The Peaker Trust, which has a 10% share in the Peaker’s project, was established to promote and advance Broad Based Black Enterprises with a preference for the empowerment of women, workers, youth, the disabled, supporting SMMEs or people living in close proximity of the Avon and Dedisa power plants.

The objectives for the beneficiaries range from impacting individuals to establishing co-operatives of in rural areas, to providing infrastructure to less fortunate areas and contributing to other local socio-economic development initiatives for the duration of the PPA.
